Some kids are ready for such subjects at a much earlier age than others. If they are ready, the questions will come. You will know. Jared and Josh had imaginary friends when they were little. We just played along, and after a while the boys moved on to other things. That's a tough one. I think if I was in the position where I was asked by someone your son's age about abortion, I'd tackle it from an angle where I stressed God's compassion and forgiveness. Abortion is a pretty horrible thing. I've known several women who made that choice and the emotional ramifications are devastating. Unfortunately the ferocity of the Church in it's stance against of abortion often tends to lead Christians to be cruel toward women who've been put in the position where they felt they had to make this choice. I personally think this is just as tragic. I'd love to see a generation of Christian children who reach out to those who have made difficult choices and love them irregardless, just the way Jesus would have done. Abortion. That’s a tough one.
