Busy Being Blessed

Time Marches On

whoever came up with that quote never had kids, i’m sure of it. time only flies, runs or races when you have kids. case in point: was it really almost two weeks since i last posted? that’s just crazy! and i’d said i’d post tomorrow. uh huh. and so much has happened since then. i am so heartbroken for steven curtis chapman and his family. i’m sure everyone has heard about the tragic accident by now. :( it’s just so horrible.

my friend janine’s little boy hurt his finger – actually the tip was cut off – in a door. the drs attached it back as well as they could, but please pray it remains attached. :(

dear rachel has had her precious new baby boy! i’m so happy for them!

jamin is really growing up and i don’t know how to stop him! josiah has taken a turn, maturing lately, and it’s incredible. he’s changed so much. he’s working seriously on potty learning now. we are pretty sure he’ll be “done” by the time he’s three, which is always our goal. and jeremiah. oh, jeremiah. he is still too big for his britches, but he’s learning who’s in charge around here, lol. he is so smart and so sweet! he is getting so tall…

yesterday we went to the fire station to get a new booster seat for jeremiah. what we left with was a new convertible seat for jamin! the seat jeremiah had (which we were going to hand down to jamin) wasn’t a rear-facing seat, and jamin isn’t ready to be forward facing yet. it’s a really nice seat! want to see how comfy?

jeremiah enjoyed being at the fire station, too. (poor josiah was sleeping most of the time! lol)

jeremiah spoke to fireman josh a lot. he told josh that he has wanted to be a fireman ever since he turned four. *giggle* fireman josh asked him what he’ll want to be when he turns five, a doctor? jeremiah said, no. still a fireman. *hehe* it’s true – he has said it for quite a while, even before he turned four, if i recall. jerry and i had a talk with him about it, that we would be so proud to have a son who’s a fireman. even though the thought makes my heart hurt! i wonder if that’s why i have always been so sensitive to fire movies? i’ve always felt heart tugs about firemen. maybe it was because my son would one day be a fireman. who knows.

about jamin again. he is pulling up to stand all the time, and crawling around like crazy. he is eating nearly anything and likes almost all foods. he is his big brothers’ little shadow. he wants to do EVERYTHING with them. it’s beyond adorable. they love him beyond words but i think he’s driving them nuts lately. *hehe* he always wants to play with their toys, especially the ones they happen to be holding!
this was so cute the other day: they were taking a bath, and i was planning to put him in too. he got a little impatient. he crawled next to it, and sat looking at them.

then he stood up! when i finally put him in, he was one happy guy!! lol. it was the second time he has ever really enjoyed taking a bath.

hey i already asked some ladies on ladies of grace (why haven’t YOU joined yet, btw?) to be my guinea pigs, but i could use some more eyes too. pretend like you’re going to order something from me and then give me the run-down of things that don’t flow well, work right, or anything else you can think of. here’s the product i’m concerned with right now: http://www.blessedmamacreations.com/store/catalog/140/173.html

well that’s it for now. :)

What Should I Say? *video added*

i am so sorry it’s been so very long since my last post. there is so much to say that i don’t know if i’ll have a chance to post it all. i’ll use a little bullet-type system to help me try to remember everything.

  • KC

first, for the dog issue. the owner of the dog that attacked jeremiah and kc came by, and gave us a check to cover kc’s vet bills. this was so wonderful. :) kc is recovering well. he had a larger sore (about the size of a dime) that we hadn’t noticed before, as it’s under hair. but even that is nearly completely healed. thanks so much for your prayers during that whole ordeal.

  • Jamin

he is going to be 9 months old on friday and i am just unbelievably shocked about this. can you believe it? he is crawling all the way now (not just army crawl), he sits up on his own (he likes sitting on his knees best so far), he pulls himself up all the time (i’m posting a video of this in a sec), he is eating stage 3 foods and also mama-eaten meats (yes it’s gross but it’s so much faster than using a processor), he is still LOVING nursing, he has six teeth (4 on top) and is working on another bottom one. he’s been doing this interesting thing that he’s in a crawl position, but puts his rear up in the air. i don’t know what he’s doing. LOL it’s so funny. he is beyond adorable and i love him so much!

  • Josiah

he has been going through so many things…we thought he was getting better behavior-wise but all the sudden he is 100% worse again. i am so befuddled with his behavior. he is SUCH a sweet and smart boy, but sometimes his disobedience just wears me down so much. :( i love him so much and i just want to see the “real” joe. you know, now that i think about it, i really think the food issues play a big part of it, and if we slip and let him have a “no-no” type food for more than a few days in a row, we see problems. yeah, i think it could be the dairy doing it lately. i wish there was a good cheap cheese alternative. he has adapted to having no milk – he loves rice milk and almond milk. hopefully we’ll find something soon.

  • Jeremiah

this little man has been thinking he’s much too big for his britches lately. he has a bad attitude, disrespectful tone, and meanness to him lately that we are finding unacceptable and horrible. i don’t know if it’s his age, or something we’re doing wrong, but we are trying to nip it in the bud. jerry and i have had enough of it! now that i think of it, his could be the extra cheese as well…hmmmm. it’s so hard to balance excuses for your kids…i want them to do the right thing, but if their little bodies are out of whack because of something they consume…it’s kind of hard to know how to discipline. :?

both big boys have really been enjoying coloring/drawing. jeremiah tries really hard to stay in the lines and is doing well. josiah doesn’t stay in the lines too hot yet, and he’s more interested in drawing than coloring. :) he likes to draw circles and write “letters” some of which are actual letters!

jerry hooked up the boys’ own computer this weekend, and it’s hooked to the internet. jeremiah said today “i’d like to go online”. it was kinda cute. :) lest you worry, it’s right next to mine, and they can’t be on it unless one of us is on our computer too. but that brings me to a picture and video of jamin:

a very disturbing thing happened today while i was gone. i don’t know if any of you remember, but over a year ago (i honestly think it’s been a LONG time, but can’t recall how long), a creepy guy came to our house and freaked me out. well, jerry thinks that guy came again tonight. jeremiah and i were at the store, and we were using the van. the guy knocked on the door and looked totally surprised to see jerry. he said something about it must not be the right house, and then asked something about the house numbers (someone painted the house numbers on the street this week) and then left. jerry was really freaked out. he has it in his mind that this guy has been scoping our house out (me especially) and knows when the van is gone, jerry is gone…so he thinks the guy came looking for me. now i try not to be paranoid, but jerry is the cool-headed one in our family. so when he’s worried, it really gets me in quite a tizzy. i’m still trying to be calm about it, but i don’t want him to leave for fed-ex tonight. UGH. i hate being so distrustful of people, but it’s a very evil, wicked world we live in. :( please pray for protection.

i had to leave a group of women (a message board) that i have loved for almost three years. it was really hard to do, and i’m still hurting over it. some things have been done there that i just can’t approve of, and i couldn’t stay and pretend i was ok with it all. i don’t like Christian bullying.

so that is horrible, and i miss so many ladies from there. but in a way it’s kind of good, i guess, because it helped me do something that i’ve been wanting to do for quite awhile: open my own Christian message board! i would love if you could come to join us (sorry rob, for ladies only :P )! http://ladiesofgrace

i hope that update will suffice. :) God bless! oh, if i don’t post before sunday, happy mothers day to all the amazing mama friends i know!!!!!!!

oh, i will add the video if it ever uploads!
