josiah was in bed with me yesterday morning and was getting a little rough, almost jumping on my belly. i reminded him to be careful because the baby was in there. so he wanted to see the baby. i lifted my shirt a little and we rubbed my belly, with him saying “niiiice” then he said “close” for me to close my shirt. then he’d ask to say “nice” again – this went round several times. it was so cute!

jerry said the shock worked, and he’s feeling groggy from the anesthesia. he will be allowed to go home at about 2. my mom is planning to get him.
thanks for the prayers. i’ll tell you what, this sure has gotten him thinking a lot, and for that i’m grateful.

well he said he doesn’t know when they’ll release him now, since his bp is 92/57. SIGH. keep praying!

jerry’s in the hospital :( *small update **NEW update
it’s his heart palipitations (sp) again. he hasn’t been for a while, even though he’s had problems lately. i know he’s feeling awful because he went from work to the er. 
he has PROMISED me that this time, he will take his meds consistently. he just wants me to remind him, even if he gets grumpy with me.
please pray that we can BOTH remember this VERY important thing.
he hasn’t called back in about 3 hours, and i know he hasn’t gone back to work. he said he’s ok, but still, please pray for him (and for me – my emotions are wacky!).
small update:
he just called and said they are sending him to the heart hospital because he’s still in afribrilation (sp) and he should have settled down by now.
we don’t know what we’re going to do now, since the heart hospital is really close to us, while the hospital he’s at now is really close to his work, and the van is still at his work, and we have no other working vehicle. 
i know the Lord will work everything out, but it’s very stressful and upsetting not being there with him….
*small update:
it is now friday morning, and he stayed overnight. they couldn’t get his heart rhythm normal, tho it was pretty close. they gave him his normal meds and said they will send him home today, whether the afib is gone or not. so i’m waiting to see how we’re going to get him home, etc. the dr also said he wants him to take at least four days off work and jerry isn’t happy about that. he already said he probably won’t adhere to that.

**NEW update:
jerry just called this morning with new news. they changed their minds after discussing it with other drs – he is NOT going home right away. he is still in afib and they are going to shock his heart. he said they said it is really simple, but he will be out for five minutes, on oxygen, etc. i am trying not to be scared. i want to be with him!!! please pray.
19 Weeks
the pics are supposed to be 18 week pics, but they’re more like 18.5 week pics. 
i’m 19 weeks today, and the all-telling ultrasound is only a week away!!
i asked jeremiah today if he wanted to play at ms amanda’s house or go see the baby on the tv. i said we were going to find out if baby bug is a boy or a girl. he said “but she’s a GIRL!”. LOL. he is sooooo sure. i hope the poor guy isn’t too disappointed if we’re wrong!
i NEED to start getting to sleep earlier. i am soooo tired, and i even vomited this morning.
i need to get at least a few winks in before the boys awaken from nappytime!

18 Weeks, 1 Day
maybe i’ll have jerry take a pic of me today, but it’s doubtful. i look totally ridiculous. all the maternity pants i have are too big and bulky. not that i am complaining i’m not as big as i was…but it’s just a pain! i am NOT spending 23 dollars on new pants either!! my belly continues to expand, and wow does j-bug move a LOT. still doesn’t have josiah beat tho! lol.
i saw my friend and her new baby elijah timothy in the hospital today. he is sooo tiny. he as 7.13. it’s soooo funny how you forget they were sooo little!!! and wow it seems like SSOOOOO long until i have j-bug! lol. i’m just looking forward to april 5, so i can know “who” is living in here. after i know that i can concentrate on spoiling the sweet thing before her/his arrival, and that should keep me occupied.
i put a convenient link to the poll up on the sidebar, just in case someone missed it. once we get ultrasound pics, i plan to redo this whole site. did you notice the header still says “almost 2007″? LOL. yeah, i really want to redo it now, but i know once i have u/s pics i’ll want to redo it again…so why not spend my creative energy on digiscrap pages?!

sorry i haven’t posted in so long. i am feeling ok, but josiah hasn’t been feeling well. he has another ear infection (so the dr says) and has been vomiting since yesterday morning. poor guy! and he really wants mama when he doesn’t feel good.
i honestly haven’t known what to post. i have days that i just want to cry for hours and hours, days that i feel perfectly normal, and days that i feel i’ll go insane cuz i can’t get out to get what i want to eat. i feel like the typical crazy pregnant woman. i’m at 147 (still i guess??) but my belly looks humongous. i really wonder if there are two in there. (i can dream.) i can’t sleep well – no position feels good – already! i’m only nearing 18 weeks!!! for one thing, i need a new pillow. my neck and head are killing me every morning.
anyway thanks for checking up on me, even when i don’t post!!!

You Know You’re Pregnant When…
you keep making a meal of olives and mozzarella sticks with ketchup. and actually enjoy it. and have it for several meals a day.
i am going to be 16 weeks tomorrow. i thought it was today, but i guess not! i had my exam yesterday – FINALLY. i HATE that little metal thing that seems to go up all the way inside you. UGH! i’m like “A LITTLE PRESSURE??? are you KIDDING ME?!” but when he said it would be a little pressure when he was feeling inside (you know, when he feels the inside of your belly while using the other hand outside your belly) i hardly felt it at all!
he said he didn’t want to see me for a month, since i’m doing better. i’m up to 145 now. i’m still vomiting 1x every morning and feeling nauseas all day long, but it’s nothing like before. i’m so thankful for that zofran!!
anyway, my ultrasound will be in a month, on april 5. i’ll be 20 weeks. they have a dvd recorder on the machine, i can take a rewritable disc – isn’t that cool? just in case they do more ultrasounds, i can have them all on one disc.

Week 16
Your Baby’s Development
You’re not the only one who’s smiling! Baby can now make facial expressions because of the development of her facial muscles. This week she can squint, smile and frown. This is probably not an indication of mood, but may be linked to random impulses in the developing brain.
Overall growth continues—your baby now weighs about 2.8 to three ounces and is about four or five inches long.
Other highlights this week include:
- Her ability to make some voluntary muscle movements means she can now hold her head somewhat erect.
- Baby is developing a sensitivity to light, and may respond with heart rate accelerations to projections of light on the abdomen. This can serve as a test of well-being before birth.
- Hiccups may start now, but you won’t hear or feel them because the baby’s system is filled with fluid rather than air.
- Baby’s heart is now pumping the equivalent of 25 quarts of blood each day.
- Arm and leg movements are becoming more coordinated.
- Baby’s bladder will empty about every 40-45 minutes.
Your Development
As your pregnancy progresses, it’s important for you to get plenty of rest. The best position for you now is lying comfortably on your side, perhaps with a pillow propped against your back and another between your legs. The best sleeping position, specifically during the last couple of months of pregnancy is on your left side. By lying on your left side, you’ll experience better digestive functioning, improved blood and nutrient flow to the placenta, and less swelling of hands, feet and legs. This is because, when lying on your left side, you are reducing pressure on the vena cava, a large vein which transports blood from the lower part of your body to your heart.
Additionally, this position allows for both you and Baby to receive more oxygen. Avoid lying on your back, because your uterus could block important blood vessels in the back of your abdomen and interfere with circulation to you and your baby. Also avoid lying on your stomach, which puts too much pressure on your growing uterus.
If you move suddenly you may a feel an ache in your sides. Not to worry… what you’re feeling are the ligaments on the sides of your uterus and pelvic walls stretching as your baby grows. It’s normal to feel some discomfort, but if it continues for a few days or if your discomfort increases, you may want to talk with your doctor.
oh my goodness jeremiah is a trip. he is just so funny! the things the boy does and says. let me see if i can think of a few of the cutest ones lately…
the other day he was coloring. he colored pages for me, jerry, gramma and grampa. then he suddenly said he needed to color one for that other man. “what other man?” “the man outside.” getting a little freaked. “WHAT man outside?” “that one man.” “WHAT ONE MAN?!” “you know, the trash man.” relaxing. “you don’t know the trash man.” “yes, i do! his name’s the trash man!” lol.
we have been talking about getting kc back. we ARE going to, but we just aren’t sure when will be the right time. jeremiah has made it very clear that he misses kc and wants him back. today he was being rough with the cat – squeezing her. she meow-cried and ran off. sometimes she scratches him, but this time she just made her escape. i said, “you know, if you treat kc like that, he might bite you.” he jumped on the chair “don’t bite me, kc!” “silly, kc isn’t here right now!” he looked very thoughtful…”i think i don’t want kc to come here anymore.” oooohhhhh brother!!!!!!!!! “kc IS coming here. you just have to be NICE to him!!!” sigh.
josiah says soooooooooo many words! they are in his own language, of course. he cuts off most of the beginning consonants. but some he says fine. it’s odd. but very cute!! he is such a busy guy, but he is so snuggly! it’s neat, that since we aren’t nursing anymore, he has become my little snuggle monkey. he’s always asking for hugs and wanting to be held by mama. it’s very special to me!! he had his 18 mo appointment on monday, and his head is in the 90th percentile. LOL. his height is in the 65th and jerry forgot his weight. i need to check jeremiah’s. i probably didn’t even write down his head circumference…i don’t even remember if the old dr did it at his age.
Jakobah has a middle name!
if baby bug is a boy, he finally has a middle name!!
i wrote a list the other day, and jerry picked a name from it. he crossed off a few (nathan, steven) because they are nephews’ names. he doesn’t like malachi (which was my favorite) and said he didn’t like the way matthew sounded. we both agreed gabriel was too “b” (say jakobah gabriel) and i don’t know why he didn’t like daniel.
