Too Soon?

is it too soon to feel fluttering? am i just imagining it?

i am copying my friend julie’s idea of posting one or two cute things that the kids say or do. hopefully, this way i won’t forget all of the BEYOND adorable things jeremiah and josiah say and do. :)

i was looking at a baby name book, and jeremiah asked to see. i asked if he wanted me to find his name, and he was very excited about it. i showed him “jeremiah” and told him that book said jeremiah means “exhalted of the Lord”. he shook his head quickly and said, “NO, mama! it says jeremiah jugowski!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” LOL. i said he was right, that that was HIS name, but his name MEANS exhalted of the Lord. he didn’t quite get it. ;)

happy new year, everyone!!!! may 2007 bring many blessings for us all!!!!!!

gather round while i tell the tale of tests! pregnancy tests, that is!

last november, i purchased a package of 50 pregnancy test strips. i can’t remember the timing exactly, but i think i started my period right around the time the tests came. maybe a few days later? so anyway, about november 30 or so, i started taking a test every morning. i would pee, dip, then throw away.

i started doing it more than once a day the past week, since i hadn’t started my period, and my cycle had been like clock-work for four months in a row (a feat never before experienced by this PCOS gal!!). so every time, same thing - pee, dip, throw away. but on Christmas eve, as the stick hit the can, it registered that there was a faint line beside the dark line! of course i had to tell jerry, who thought i imagined it, so of course i had to DIG THROUGH the trash, of guess what, FORTY-TWO tests.

much to my surprise, i didn’t find just ONE double lined test. i found AT LEAST 7. but there were MANY more with only one dark line and nothing else. i had heard about the evil evaporation line, but wouldn’t ALL of them have a faint extra line, if that was the case here? so, i did what any obsessed person would do.

i went out on Christmas eve to buy a digital test.

i returned home, followed the instructions, and in my three minutes’ time, saw “PREGNANT” staring back at me. i tried not to scream for joy (the boys were sleeping already) and quietly ran up the stairs to show jerry. i was prepared for his not-too-excited look. i hugged him, told him i loved him, and then called mom. i also called my brother and my sister-in-law.

fast forward a little bit. i was packaging up the extra test to send to someone who’d bought them, and was going to write on the instructions for the test strips “MAKE SURE TO WAIT AT LEAST FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THROWING TEST AWAY,” when i noticed, right on the directions “A positive may appear instantly, but please wait the full five minutes to confirm a negative.” yeah. slapped myself in the head after that one. *rolls eyes* (and carmen, i DID underline that, just in case you miss it. LOL!!!!)

that ends the tale of the tests. i hope you enjoyed it. ;)

Pray for the Snows

Curtis went to the hospital with chest pains. He’s fine, it is just from stress. Hospice is involved now in Melissa’s care and they are going to be starting her on an IV. Her stomach is starting to shut down and they are trying to help her get through Christmas. She won’t last much longer, but they wanted the girls to have one more Christmas.

Please remember to lift the whole family up in your prayers. This is an especially hard time for all of them, it’s no wonder Curtis was having chest pains.

We know Melissa will be joining our Lord soon. It is Curtis and their kids, especially the older girls, who need the most prayer right now.

I just can’t believe this time is finally here. I am in tears and praying. PLEASE pray for them this weekend. PLEASE.

today, on this day of my 31st year, i was awakened by the usual chatter of little boys. but, today, i rolled over, and my dear husband got them up. :D

then he asked me where the clean undies and dipeys were. then he asked me where the wipes were.

then i tried to go back to sleep, only to hear “happy birthday, mama!” from my almost three year old, jeremiah (a month from today!!!). he then received my kiss, and ran off giggling. i rolled over again, then heard “happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, dear mama, happy birthday to you!” from that same wonderful boy. what a sweetie!!!! then josiah came into bed with me for a nurse and a hug. lol.

they went downstairs after a few minutes, and i was left to rest. then i was awakened by my beloved with a delicious breakfast in bed, of sausage gravy and biscuts, bacon and eggs, and a glass of milk. MMMMM. this was served on jeremiah’s sesame street tray. :D he made WAY too much, but don’t fear pilgrims, i didn’t eat it all. ;) what a sweetie!

the day is not over yet. our evening plans are to eat at texas roadhouse (MMMMM my favorite) with my parents and brother josh. it’s so wonderful that jerry has my birthday off!!!!!!!!! after the boys are in bed, we plan to watch a rented movie (undecided so far).
gift list:

from jerry:

a 2gig memory card (woohoo do you know how many pics that will hold?!), two beautiful 5×5 photo frames, since i have been framing the scrapbook pages in that size, a very sweet card. promises to make me smile and laugh more often. :D

from mom:

this is for my birthday AND Christmas: an 8.1 digital camera. it is sooooo neat!

from brother josh:

well, he came over and put in a light in the play room! in the ceiling! how handy it is to have a brother who works for an electric installation company! :D

i received a huge birthday kit from one of the digital scrap places i go to.

i received a free coupon to the coldstone creamery (ice cream).

i received a free coupon for an appetiezer at texas roadhouse (catcus blossom, here i come!)….pilgrims, expect a gain from me this friday. *hangs head in shame before it even happens!*

i did NOT receive what i was really hoping for…a positive pregnancy test. but, i’m already praying for next month.

i’m so thankful for my wonderful family and my dear friends. i am really blessed!!

quietly coming by to say i think jeremiah is trained!!!

he does HORRIBLY in pull-ups. wets in them as soon as they are on, practically. in underwear he does GREAT! and last night, he slept all night in underwear, staying dry the whole night!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

i was doing pull-ups for sleeptimes and outings, but i am going to try underwear for outings now. i will just take extra undies and extra pants.

now my next goal - poopy in the potty all the time.

then my goal is to get him to potty in the big potty, not just the little one.

but i am just SOOOO proud of him!

as you can see, he’s pretty proud of himself too! :D

jeremiah is a big boy!

well this is strange.

jerry was taken aside by the big guy in charge at his *old* nursing home job. he was told that the problem lady in charge, who has been running everyone out of the facility, has been “let go”. he was told that some of jerry’s friends who were run out are returning now that she’s gone. he was also told that the new in charge lady (i wish i could remember the job title lol) is really wonderful. he introduced them and jerry said she’s really nice.

he went on to tell him that he is one of the best workers they have ever had there, and he really really wants him to stay.

what’s the kicker? well, they have given him a raise. not huge, but more than the new job would pay.

so he has had to really think and pray about this one. he finally decided to stay where he is, and if something happens, he will go to the new place.

it just seems so odd the timing of it all, you know? *shrugs* you never can tell what the Lord is doing sometimes. wait, make that most of the time. lol!

oh i have to share these pics of josiah with my brother josh - the hat is josh’s:

and our tree. this is the first year we’ve done just white/silver and blue. we haven’t added the new decorations yet because we don’t know if the tree with be staying up. jerry is concerned that josiah might eat a bell or knock the tree over. i’m more concerned with the cat though - she is so destructive!!!

oh, and today josiah is 16 months old. WAHHHHH where does the time go!? i will be 31 in less than a week, and jeremiah will be 3 in less than a month. SIGH. here is my baby with a TOO SHORT haircut. WAH! jerry didn’t mean to cut it so short….

i hope everyone is doing well! i realize times are super busy. i just hope everyone has found the blog, with all the moving i’ve been doing lately! lol.
God bless!

What is your Child’s Learning Talent?

jeremiah:

Your child has exceptional linguistic ability. Your child could be the next president. Also, your child may be the next Dale Carnegie, Dr. Suess, or JK Rowland. Your child can hear things and remember them easily. They are often advanced readers and learn to talk quickly. They enjoy telling stories. They learn other languages easily. They can generalize how their language is put together in written and spoken form readily.

Some good activities for your child are as follows: Word games such as scrabble, crossword puzzles, anagrams, spelling games and most of all, reading. Your child will probably start writing at a young age, so have plenty of pencils, crayons, and paper handy.

josiah:

Your child has exceptional charisma and physical ability. You may be living with the next great athlete, Tiger Woods or Serena Williams. These children can even grown up to be actors. Don’t be surprised if your child is the next Richard Burton or Nicole Kidman. Your adventurous child may even grow up to be the next Sally Ride or Neil Armstrong. Your child loves to move, climb on things, and loves activity and adventure. These children are sometimes labeled hyper active when they don’t have outlets for their energy.

Here are some ways you can nurture your child’s talent: Any type of sports, group or individual, such as soccer, karate, and dance. These children usually love large motor activity. Some ideas for their physical activities are jungle gyms, balls, tricycles, and skates. Also they may like active handwork such as clay, playdough, sewing, and finger painting. Some other great activities would be wall climbing, playing in the children’s play area at your local fast food restaurant, the slides, pools of balls are great free activities for your child.
