more tomorrow?

i am still a bit in denial. how can my baby be turning two? i just can’t believe it.

he is such a sweet big boy that it shouldn’t come as a shock. he is saying more and more lately, more full sentences. some of them crack me up. tonight, he said, “mama, mama, are you out there?” last night, he said, “mama, i a hepper.” (he meant helper, of course.) he said that three times last night, with his eyes big and wide and a very proud but serious look on his face. i am tearing up again just picturing it. he loves to be a helper to his baby brother. giving him a toy, trying to stuff his paci in his mouth. he is a sweetie. today when i put him into bed for nap, i asked him again how old he’ll be tomorrow. we’ve been trying to get him to hold up two fingers and say “two”. he started counting aloud and holding up fingers. but he said “one, two, free, eight, nigh, ten, four”. oh it was so cute. every day he becomes more precious and wonderful. every day i wonder how i could have been blessed with such a miraculous person as my own child. jerry and i just look at each other and tear up sometimes as we listen to him talking to himself as he calms down for nap alone in his room. it is unbelievable how someone so small has changed our lives so much.

thank You, Lord, for the precious gift you gave us in our precious son.

i love you jeremiah! you are still my baby boy and you always will be.

i am going to have a niece!!! my brother and sister in law are expecting a GIRL! the first granddaughter on my side, the first grandchild on her side. :D we are excited to be able to buy something pink. congrats jay and nat!!!!

jeremiah will be two tomorrow!!!

the three of us are still getting over being sick. i don’t have croup, but i have a pretty nasty cold. sore throat, sore ears, headache, cough. plus my tooth is giving me fits. jeremiah still has a cough and runny nose. josiah is pretty stuffy and his cough comes and goes. continue to pray for us.

the financial situation is currently taken care of, thanks to my mom. we are also on a budget plan. anyone who prints out menus for the month or week, please send them to me. i am trying to make a workable, cheap menu that will fit into our budget.

did i mention jeremiah will be two tomorrow??? i can’t believe time has gone so quickly.

thanks to amy for the flowers for me. thanks to julie for the magnadoodle for jeremiah. we both love them and we love you.

if i can get through it emotionally, i will post a happy birthday post tonight or tomorrow. sigh.

also please pray for my friend dori, whose back went out. she has six kids and is pregnant again (her youngest is a week younger than josiah) so the medicine is scaring her. she is in SO MUCH PAIN. please pray.

with all the downer posts i’ve had lately, i have to throw in a positive note: guess who fell asleep in his crib for the THIRD NIGHT in a row?!?!?! with no crying, no screaming. just happy little babbles to get himself to sleep. :D :D hips, hollers, hooray!!!!!!!!! now if only i can get him to stay asleep….

but do you know how excited this makes me?!?!?!

i’m sure you do.

my sweet little roly poly boy will be five months old at 1:40am. it’s very hard to believe.
but let me mention all he’s been doing.
rolling from back to belly, to belly to back again. he will roll over and over again.
scooting together with his rolling, so he can end up anywhere on the floor.
i have been able to hold him on my hip for a while (weeks) and keep forgetting to mention it. (by this i mean he is strong enough to wrap his legs around to not flop all over the place when i hip-hold him).
wow his smiles are completely amazing. they seem to get bigger and sunnier every day.
he is now in his crib (obviously) and most nights will sleep through. this is so wonderful! he seems to like the crib better. although naps are very short now, as opposed to before.
he is eating bottles on a 3 hour schedule, nursing on demand in between, and having cereal 2x a day. starting tomorrow he’ll get a veggie a day, then i’ll up it to two a day once he has shown he can tolerate more than one.
i am just in awe of this precious little miracle boy. i love him so much. i have a feeling he is going to be a little firecracker. he has a little temper and seems to be even more strong-willed than jeremiah. i have been saying lately - he has his papa’s looks and his mama’s personality (yes, i’m rotten!!).
we are so blessed to have such amazing boys. today is a week until jeremiah’s second birthday and i still can’t believe how fast time flies. both of them are growing up too fast. is there nothing to be done to slow down time???

BONUS ADD-ON: sickies.
jeremiah and josiah are both officially sick. jeremiah was running a fever today but not feeling horrible. only other symptom was quietness, no energy plus a little coughing (coughing only when he awoke from nap). starting tonight at about 1 am he awoke screaming, with a coughing fit. he ended up vomiting all over himself and me. as soon as i’d calmed him enough for him to sleep (which took a while) josiah awoke crying with a similar coughing noise (deep, barky, spit-uppy) and he felt on fire. rectal temp of 101.7. somewhere in the back of my mind i thought my dr wanted me to call if it was over 101, so i did. well it seems it’s not an emergency but she wants to see them both in the morning. which it is morning already, and i’ve not had one wink of sleep. and josiah is still awake in his crib, and tho he’s content right now, i don’t see it lasting long. what a way to start off his five month birthday huh?
all this to say, please pray. pray for the boys and pray for me. i’m not sure if my queasy stomach is from me being sick too or from being so tired. i will update when i can.

jan 12: Quick update:
the boys have croup. my mom is here and i am going to take a nap. i think i got three hours of sleep, if that.
please continue to pray for them, and me, because i have a cough and sore throat too.
