Another Ear Infection!

Published on August 31, 2004

well, i went with my gut and decided not to wait for a tooth, and make a dr’s appt. i am SO glad that i did, because i found out this morning that he has another ear infection. it’s the third in 6 mos. i’m a bit concerned because dr mentioned tubes as a possibility if this happens again. i don’t want that, but if it would make him feel better and be sick less, then i’m all for it.
anyway, i’m just really glad i decided to take him. poor baby!!! he is sleeping really soundly in his car seat. the poor boy hasn’t had a nice sleep in a while, so i’m just leaving him alone!
i’m excited about something silly. i bought his med (amoxil) at a drug store i’ve never been to, called low cost rx, and his amoxil was only $4.59!!! now is it me, or is that really good? i wish i’d tried it before, but hey, now i know. ;)
well that’s all for now folks! hugs and blessings!

News.

Published on August 30, 2004

my brother jay, who is handling our mortgage, says that it will be WAY sooner than 45 days. YAHOO! so, guess who’s packing and coming up with color schemes? you’d better believe i am! LOL.

baby boy is not feeling well. (i.am.tired.) he kept me up most the night last night. he kept waking up in horrible tears. i can NOT let him cry, no matter what. whining is one thing, crying is totally another for me. and he was so pitiful. every time all he wanted was for me to hold and cuddle him. he is so sweet and loving. :lovey: i’m pretty sure it’s still the teething deal that’s bothering him. poor baby. :baby: if his teeth don’t pop in by tomorrow and he’s still feeling this bad, i’m calling his dr.
even though he’s not feeling well, he is still on the move and growing a LOT. he likes to balance on his knees, and also hold onto things to pull himself up to a standing position. it’s hard to believe that a little while ago, i was so proud of him sitting up on his own!! he is changing so much so quickly!!! i copied this from my post at jen’s baby board cuz i wanted to ask y’all what you think as well: jeremiah was staying safely in the living room when he first started crawling. NO MORE! he wants to follow us everywhere now! so we have baby gates up and he HATES them. we don’t want him in the kitchen or in the bathroom. if we’re on the other side for even a minute he gets all upset, saying ‘mamamamama’ or ‘dadadada’ in a very sad voice. yes, he’s saying dada now, which is funny, since we say papa….strange! lol. my mom seems to think it’s because she has been trying to get him to say dada. she’s probably right, and jerry said he’s all ready to take the dada until he can say papa. hehe!
our new house has dreaded stairs, so we’re going to have to get over that hurdle when we move in. anyone here have stairs, and if so, what special precautions do you use? i mean, do baby gates really work? at the top of the stairs, can the baby try to climb on it and fall down the stairs? the thought TERRIFIES me. we are hoping for the upstairs loft area to be the ‘playroom’ but if there is ANY chance that jeremiah could fall down the stairs it is OF COURSE going to be out of the question. maybe there’s a special type of gate that can be used? i was also thinking about maybe putting up a half wall with a real door for the loft area, so the stairs wouldn’t be accessable. don’t know if that’s possible but it may be an option. ??
jeremiah was going through a bit of a nursing strike for a few days. i don’t know why, but it’s over now. he’s back to normal with his nursing. :D yay!
jerry hurt himself the other day. he was getting some toilet paper in the pantry, stood up quickly, and hit his eye (right under his eye) on a nail. he scratched himself pretty deeply. he didn’t go to the dr or anything. if it had been me, i think i would have gone to the dr!!!! men are braver and stronger though. ;)

THE.HOUSE.IS.OURS

Published on August 25, 2004

it is official! though it will take up to 45 days for the whole thing to go through, our bid has been accepted! the mortgage needs to be worked on next. but IT IS OURS! i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thankful! thank You, Lord! thank you, mom, for finding the house! thank you mom and dad, for laying claim to the house while we were on our way! ;) thank you, all who prayed for us!!!!!!!!!!!!
no pics yet, and when i do get pics up it will probably just be the outside, as the inside needs LOTSA work! ;)
HALELUJAH! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!
eta: details for julie, and anyone else curious ;) :
1578 sq.ft.
three bedrooms, all upstairs.
- the master bedroom is huge, about the size of grampa’s living room plus his kitchen, with a walk-in closet and a master bathroom.
- the other two bedrooms are about the same size, probably 12×13 or something. (not exactly sure of the dimensions.) kids’ bathroom also upstairs, as well as a loft room in between the bedrooms, which will be the play room for now.
2 car garage, laundry room, kitchen, dining room, living room, downstairs 1/2 bath.

like i said, it needs LOTS of work. note that the work is INSIDE not outside! lol. the outside is in perfect condition, except for the front door (which you can’t see in the photo, it’s to the left though).

photos from the outside (taken at night):

My Poor Sweet Boy

Published on

is not feeling well. he has been cranky, clingy, whiny, teary. i know it has a lot to do with the obnoxious teeth that will not pop through, but now i’m wondering if he’s also got more than just the sniffles. last night he slept from 830p-7a without waking up one time. and then he went back to sleep at 915 and is still sleeping (it’s 1030). i just feel so badly for him when he’s miserable like this!
i have mentioned that he’s been crawling. well, he has only stayed in the room we have him in, which right now the crawling room is our living room. when we leave the room to use the restroom or go to the kitchen, he doesn’t realize he COULD follow us if he wanted to. at least until last night. he tried to follow me into the kitchen, but the cable wire hurt his knees, so he was stuck there, knees and legs in the living room, arms and head in the kitchen. it was a sight to see! i would have taken a pic but i was making dinner! LOL. thankfully it was during an okay feeling time for him, so he was just smiling at me, not whining or crying about it. one of these days he’ll go over that wire and be IN the kitchen! then will be time for the baby gate. i do not want my baby under my feet in the kitchen. the thought scares me. i am such a clutz, i would be afraid i’d drop clean knives or hot food on him!

we’re still praying hard about the house. we find out tomorrow….the suspense is getting to me!!

HOLD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I THINK WE GOT THE HOUSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

bbs to confirm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly Found THE House?

Published on August 23, 2004

well we put a bid on a hud home last night!!! we won’t know until THURSDAY if we get it or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it needs a bit of work, but we’re up for it. it will be so fun to take before/after photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE pray for us that if this is the right home, we’ll get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are SOOO tired and stressed with worrying about finding a home.
the home is a 1998.
which is funny, cuz our new minivan is a 98.
and we were married in 98!
LOL.
again, please pray.

i posted this on jen’s baby board last night and forgot to post it on here! how’s that for some serious mommy brain???

i need to get out today to buy some toilet paper. how could i ever let us run out of that? we are down to like two squares on a roll. EEEEK! jerry is sleeping because he worked really late, so i’ll take the babe by myself. get to try out his new shopping cart seat cushion! ;)

oh, don’t forget to check out the new videos on the sidebar! i’ll be adding a few more later if i get the time. the things take forever to load! (if you haven’t noticed! lol)

hugs and blessings!!!
and don’t forget to pray for us and the house!!!!

What a Stinker!

Published on August 21, 2004

you are not going to believe what my baby boy did. i was leaving to go get some taco bell for lunch ( because, hey, i can do that now, because i have a new minivan! joy! :) )
as i was putting him in his carseat, i smelled that all-too-familiar smell of poopy. so i took him in to change him. well, i change the dipey, throw it away, and just as i’m about to put the new one on, i notice HE’S POOPING AGAIN right on the changing table! a nice little snake poop!!!!! so i clean that up really quickly, and right when i’m throwing that one away, HE PEES!!!! not a lot, but a dribble. but STILL!!!! ARGH!
i’m just thankful it didn’t get on his clothes, because i was already hungry to begin with.
oh, the joys of parenthood. :rotfl:
i honestly wouldn’t trade this moment or any other moment with my baby for all the carefree, BORING days without him put together. he is precious and priceless and i love him SO MUCH!!
i didn’t mention it the other day, but jeremiah and kc were PLAYING TOGETHER! the skittish dog actually was on his back, letting jeremiah pet him, and was doing his playful bark and stance, letting jeremiah play with him! i teared up, because i was beginning to wonder if kc would ever warm up to jeremiah, and the thought made me sad. i always wanted our two boys to love each other and be best pals! well, unfortunately, kc is being skittish again. but i guess it’s baby puppy steps, right? :D he can’t change all his ways in a day.
ohhhhh anyone have a picture people around you and you’d love a free coupon, like the one i used for jeremiah a few weeks ago? click here! it’s compliments of american baby! you are also eligible to enter your adorable child in the photo contest. yes, that means our children will be competing, but oh well! it’s fun, right?!
i hope to get a few new videos up soon!! so check the sidebar!
well, hugs, giggles, grins and blessings, from the nutty, crazy gigowski family! :)

clarification

Published on

i just wanted to clarify that the van was bought with my GRAMPA’s money - money that he wanted to use to buy us a car before he died. so it was his gift to us. mom and dad were very kind to pick it up and surprise us with it, but it was actually from grampa.
just wanted to clarify because a few of you seemed to think the van was FROM my parents. ;)

SURPRISE for US!

Published on August 18, 2004

mom called today to let me know they were coming over to visit mi-mi. no biggie, this happens often - they miss their little grandson. plus it’s his 7mo birthday…
so mom and jannelle get here first and begin playing with and loving on jeremiah. normal.
then i noticed a mcdonald’s happy meal bag. i reach for it. mom says, “don’t touch that!” i say, “what is it?” she says, “it’s for you. but you have to wait til dad gets here.” i’m all like….okayyyyy what could it be???
well, when dad pulls in, he honks. mom runs to the kitchen, grabs the bag, throws it in jerry’s hands and says “open it open it!” so we open it…..

inside, ladies and gentlemen (i know of no men who read this journal, but for the sake of normalcy) were KEYS.
we run outside to find a MINIVAN!!!!!!
you may not know this, because i don’t think i’ve mentioned it, but we have been looking for a minivan as well as a house. (side note: grampa had always wanted to either pay for our car, buy us a new one, or pay off our college loans. the new car was the most logical plan, and that’s what we were looking for!!!!) since the house is so important, the minivan hunt has been thrown a bit to the wayside.
not by my parents though! they faithfully searched for both.
well, the minivan is a maroon color and very very nice. 1998. nice interior, nice exterior.
can you believe it???? we are so thrilled. it’s nice not to worry about that, and it’s nice to be able to get out of here when i need to!!!!

Our New Minivan!

oh note, if you have already emailed me about snapfish and site additions, i’m using your email to add you to my bloglet. ;) if you haven’t yet, just look to the right and add your email! :) i am still seeing how bloglet works - i HOPE it works!

earlier today i practically scared jeremiah half to death with a humungo sneeze! poor guy just woke up from his nap, so the giant noise startled him. i had to smile and reassure him repeatedly that mama just sneezed…i finally said ’say bless mama’ and got a smile out of him. poor fella! (we always say ‘oh bless you!’ whenever he sneezes. :D)

7 Months Old!

Published on

jeremiah is 7 months old today. wow. i know i say it every month, but i really can’t believe how fast the time is flying!!!
he is such a big, sweet boy. he is such a wonderful blessing to everyone who knows him! his beautiful smile can light up the darkest of days! his sweet snuggles and hugs can make the grumpiest person happy! i cry just thinking about how much i love him and how blessed we are to have him in our lives.
i weighed him today, and the scale was pretty rickety under his weight (it’s an old scale!). it wavered in between 19 and 20, more towards 19. i’m sticking with 19.5 though. i haven’t measured him today, but i’m sure he’s grown at least an inch since last month.
yesterday he tried cheerios for the first time, and also tried zwieback for the first time! both were fun to watch. he enjoyed them, though he liked the flavor of the zwieback right off, while the cheerios took him a few minutes to really enjoy.
he is crawling to where ever he wants to go now. though i still haven’t seen him do a straight shot across the room, i think he could now! he was trying to chase after kc yesterday! it was the cutest thing - kc was actually wanting to play with him! yay! so that’s a good thing - their relationship may grow after all! :D
please pray for us about house hunting. it is getting really discouraging. last week, we found the PERFECT house, and were all ready to get it, in the realtor’s office and everything, only to find it had been sold already. :sad and now, we are having a problem finding something that compares to it at all. it was big, it was pretty new, and it was in the perfect price range. (we are only looking at hud/reposessed homes because of the cost.) please please pray for us. we wanted to be out by september, and august is halfway over!!
if you haven’t been here in awhile, please check the previous post - i still haven’t received many emails about snapfish yet!!!
God bless - hugs!
