Dr Appt, Doula Meeting

Published on December 30, 2003

today we met with the doula and had our dr’s appt. our doula (amanda) was able to go to the dr’s appt, and i’m glad! she got to meet him, and talk with him and get the feel of his personality.
doc told us that for first babies, it’s generally 39th to 41st weeks that they come. i said i hoped it was closer to 39 weeks!

Diapers!

i just got my order of cloth diapers in!! we ordered bumkins all-in-ones. they are sooo cute!! i’m very pleased with them. i can hardly wait to get one on my little man!!! :)
i forgot to mention i have a dr’s appt tomorrow, as well as meeting our doula for the first time. OH and i also forgot to mention that i am strep b positive. :( so i will be put on antibiotics for his delivery, AND he will have to stay for observation at least 48 hrs. sigh.
anyway, that’s it for now! :) hugs!

A Lovely Sunday

Published on December 28, 2003

it is such a lovely day! you can’t tell at all it’s december. the snow is gone, the weather is almost spring-like. kind of unnerving in a way! lol!
the pastor’s prayer today included jerry, jeremiah and me…he asked for protection for us, since our baby is due in the next few days…LOL. i think he’s more anxious than i am to have this baby!!!! (NOT!!!!!!) it’s more like the next few weeks, but i can HOPE he’ll come in the next few days, right??! it is really exciting to see how much the people of our church care for us, and how anxious they are to meet our son. :)
new preggo pics up!!
i am REALLY excited to get this baby out of me. as much as i love him, and love feeling him move inside me, i can’t wait to hold him in my arms. i can’t wait to see his face. i want to smother him with kisses and hugs. i am soooo uncomfortable lately. i don’t think the boy knows the rules that when there is less room, he needs to move around less…he seems to be moving even more than ever lately. and it’s VERY uncomfortable.
anyway, i don’t want to complain - this boy is the most precious gift ever. i am so thankful for him, so thankful the Lord blessed us with him. i guess i’m just READY. the ball’s in his court now!! anytime, jeremiah!!!!! mama’s ready!!!!!!!
we had denny’s for lunch. i had the biggest :burger: i’ve ever seen. i didn’t even finish half of it. LOL. my eyes are bigger than my belly i think. ;) (not possible, you say? lol!)
i have been trying to think of a cute, clever title for jeremiah’s site. once he’s born, i’m moving all of this stuff over there, and i’m actually starting to move things now (in case there are any missing links in the next few weeks). but anyway, originally, i was going to call it
Raising Jeremiah: Oh, the Joys of a Boy!
and i still love that, but is it too long?? i don’t know, because this site has been Precious Dreams are Coming True…Waiting for Jeremiah, and that’s even longer…LOL. what do you think?? should i just go with something boring and simple, like jeremiah’s room? or something else? couldn’t think of anything with a ‘j’ like jenn’s journey. well, jeremiah’s jungle, but that is kind of older sounding to me….ok i’m babbling, but i would love to hear your input about it. ;)
well, happy Sunday, friends and aunties! :) huggles!

Week 37…wow!

Published on December 27, 2003

it is crazy how fast every week goes. i hope now that Christmas is over things don’t slow down!! i want this boy to come out!
my pal jen had her baby adriana! she is soooo adorable!! :) congrats, jen!!!!

Week 37:
Now Baby weighs almost 6.5 pounds and his total length is about 21 inches long. But he hasn’t stopped growing yet; he’ll continue to develop about a half-ounce of fat a day. Still, overall growth does slow from here on out. That’s fortunate, since there is very little available space left in the womb as it is.

- Baby’s immune system continues to strengthen. His immune system will continue to get stronger after birth, and will not be completely functional until early adulthood.
- Baby can now grasp with his fingers as dexterity improves.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, celebrating our Saviour’s birth. ours was very nice. :) everyone loved the gifts we got them, thankfully! :) i had put gift receipts in the boxes, just in case, but no one wanted them lol. our Christmas was barely white. most of the snow had melted. but at least that means that driving was easy for people. ;)
we are working on another mural that’s going over the changing table. i will be taking whole room pics soon so everyone can see it. :)
i am sooooooo ready for jeremiah to be born. i am mostly fine when i’m sitting down, but as soon as i stand up, i feel like he’s going to fall out. and i always feel like my bladder is full, when it’s just him lying on it. i really wonder when he’ll decide he’s ready to be born. i know he’s not due for a few weeks, but STILL! ;)
lots of love and hugs! :)

Merry Christmas!

Published on December 24, 2003

we are celebrating Christmas with my family at our house this year, today. so i have a few last minute things to take care of around the house. i’m making chili for tonight, per mom’s request. my brother thinks chili for Christmas is quite odd, but we’ll see how it goes! ;)
feeling pretty sick today, so pray that i feel well enough to get all that i need done done.
had a dream that my aunt and uncle from washington came by when i was still in bed! i was freaking out because nothing was done yet! needless to say, glad it was a dream.
i also dreamed that i was doing something (don’t remember what) and all the sudden i saw a fist stick out of my stomach. a perfectly shaped, tiny fist. i don’t mean it actually came out, but you know like when you see the lump from a foot or something. it was strange.
who knows if i’ll be online again before friday. i hope when i come back to find that jen and manda have had their baby girls!!! i really want to see those two darlings. :)
i want to wish everyone a wonderful, happy, blessed Christmas.
happy Birthday to Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!
love and hugs!

please keep my friend manda in your prayers. she may or may not be having sarrah at any time…it’s up in the air. i guess that’s how birth always is. LOL. but she was (is?) in the hospital. just keep her in your prayers, as i’m sure she’s feeling nervous.
i think jeremiah dropped sometime in the middle of the night. when i went to bed, he was normal feeling; when i woke up for one of my late night potty breaks, he was lower. not so much pressure on my lungs, or kicking on my ribs! :) i assume it’s because he’s dropped that i’m feeling a lot better all around. i have more energy, and have been doing some major cleaning. does that count as nesting? i have also been very concerned about getting jeremiah’s room ALL done.
hugs!

36 weeks…and counting!

Published on December 20, 2003

this week:
“Your baby is working hard to accumulate all the fat he can, in preparation for delivery. His body is growing rounder every day, since about 15 percent of his total weight is now made up of fat. Once he is born, this fat layer will help him maintain his body temperature and give him a reliable energy source.

Baby now weighs around six pounds and is 20.7 inches long.

- Major organ development is already complete, such as the kidneys and liver.

- Some fine-tuning, such as the final development of the lungs, is still taking place inside the womb.

- Baby’s head is round, but by the time he makes it through the birth canal it may be temporarily a bit misshapen as the soft bones of the skull are compressed by powerful contractions. His head shape will return to normal within a few days.”
:D

i’m not feeling well, so i am going to make this short.
does everyone who comes on here hear a song playing? i ask because i have gotten a few compliments on the song playing, and there ISN’t a song playing anymore. i took it out for rebekah and other slow-connection folks. (her computer is slow, not her mind LOL.) so i wonder where you’re hearing this wonderful, relaxing song?? i know at gigowski’s garden there is a wonderful one playing. is that what you’re thinking of??

Happy Birthday to Me!

Published on December 18, 2003

i can’t believe i am 28. i feel very old to be having my first baby at 28…
jerry told me happy birthday this morning before he got his shower, but i didn’t hear him. so i went into the bathroom and just gave him ‘the look’. he was like, WHAT?? he thought i wanted the gift my mom had left and made me wait until today to open (i know, cruel, huh?) so he took it into the room for me. i said, bear, i just wanted you to tell me happy birthday. he said, jenn, i already did this morning before i got up! lol! ok that was a dumb story.
my mom’s gift was the pizza pizzaz, which i have been wanting for a few years now. i thought she probably forgot i still wanted it. i am the biggest pizza-lover in the world…i can’t believe i don’t have a slice of pizza smilie…(just pretend it’s here). and you can use it on fresh, homemade pizzas, take and bake pizzas and frozen pizzas. i’m so excited. i’m sure jerry and grampa will resent it - they feel we have too much pizza already. LOL. :yummy:
well lots of things have happened since i posted last. no, jeremiah didn’t come!! i would have made jerry post about it if i was unable! lol! on tuesday, mom brought one of my old dolls, from when i was a child. we saw something on ‘a baby story’ that we thought we should try…to get kc used to a baby in the house. we dressed the baby in one of jeremiah’s outfits and put baby lotion on it (still doesn’t smell like a real baby though!). we have been treating it like a baby, though we feel very dumb doing it, and it seems to be working. at first, kc was SOOO resentful of it! he wouldn’t look at it when we asked him ‘do you want to talk to the baby?’ and he acted like he was going to nip it. now he will sit next to one of us holding it, and be fine. so we’re glad we did this…i know it will be different when jeremiah is here, but it’s nice to get him used to the idea of someone taking over our attention. it’s so funny when we put the baby to bed - we say, ‘time for baby to go to bed!’ and kc follows us in jeremiah’s room and watches us kiss the doll and say goodnight things to it as we place it in his crib. THEN we say, ‘time for kc to go to bed!’ and he runs to his cage for bedtime. it’s so adorable.
i also have been working on packing my bag. it just seems like a lot of the things they mention i need aren’t really necessary, and there’s something else that i should be taking instead. sigh. i’m still working on it though, never fear! :) i really really need to get a nursing bra. still don’t have one. that’s a bday gift mom promised to buy for me, but of course i have to pick it out. i want it to be fitted on me. i am a horrible bra person. i hate trying them on, and they never fit me properly. SOOOO i am getting fitted for this one, since it’s very important!! it has to be comfortable or i’ll be miserable. i have three outfits for jeremiah’s going home outfit picked out. since i don’t know how big or little he’ll be, there are three different sizes:
yellow ducky, cookie monster, lil cowboy
cute, eh??
guess what else i have been doing? i’m painting the baby snoopy ‘mural’ on jeremiah’s wall above his crib. we have been putting it off long enough. it’s nearly done, and when it is done i’ll post it for you. :) i’m kinda proud of myself.
well i really need to get to the bathroom…grampa was in there for a while!!!
have a great day!! huggles!!
