SuperCroc, pretty flowers, silly face, Jerry behind a giant elephant! lol.
we did have lots of fun on vacation. i’m really sorry for not posting more than i have since our return. i’ve been very busy with other things. i also am trying to make a layout for my site.
i love the bears, but i don’t feel right without having something i made myself. i may be getting away from the country theme for at least a while, but please don’t hate me anyone!
i’m going to try to have some sort of quote at least once a week.
Quote to Ponder:
“Ships are safe in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are made for. The same is true of the human spirit. Don’t ever be afraid to take chances, reach for the stars, or take a stand on what you believe in.” - Russell DiSilvestro
God bless you!
back to blogging!
well, i have returned. we’ve actually been home since friday morning, but i’m back to blogging now. i just checked email, and visited a few reads. we’ve been staying away from the computer pretty well - i don’t want to get addicted again, now that i don’t feel i NEED it like before. ![]()
we met jen and her family!! it was fun, and they are soooooo great!!!!!!!!!! i love jen even more now! she’s awesome. jerry really enjoyed it too, and liked them very much. i commented that it was almost like meeting up with old friends that we have always known, and had no problem getting reacquainted; he agreed. i wish we could have spent more time together, but i’m thankful for the time we had. i know we’ll see each other again. they may even come to indy sometime! yay!
we saw jerry’s mom and sister’s family (the sister who lives in michigan - she’s married and has five kids. he has two other sisters, who both live in indiana. he has two brothers who live in michigan, but he’s not really close to either.). it was really great to see them, but it’s also a blessing that we were able to afford a hotel room for our stay. every other time we’ve visited michigan, we stayed with his mom, and i was not gonna do that this time! she lives in a tiny little apartment, and we would be in her bed while she was on the couch…and we were trying to make a baby…ahem…lol…so the hotel was nice.
i also was able to see my friend laurie from college. i hadn’t seen her in about 5 or 6 years!!!!!!! she has always been a wonderful friend and a kindred spirit, so meeting up with her again was awesome!!!! jerry never really got to know her before, so he had fun meeting her and chatting with her. he really loved her!
there is a sad note to this. i used only one roll of film, and when it was ready to be removed to use a new one, the film got exposed. it was a cheapo kind, and it must have gotten snagged or something. i took it to get developed yesterday, after forcing it in the canister in the dark bathroom. i don’t know if it will turn out, but i hope to at least save a few of the pictures. pray about this! i love pictures!!!!! there were some of the children’s museum, jen’s fam, and laurie. PULEEEZE turn out!
well, i’m going to check out tuesday this or that now…brb - you won’t miss me a bit!
hmmm it’s not new yet. i’ll check back later and post it if it’s up.
i got this neat inspirational story in my mailbox today. i have no idea who the author is - if you know tell me!
i thought i would share it with you; it touched me so.
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband’s employer’s home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the water-way, and cars costing more than her house. The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live.
The husband’s employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely. As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him.
There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.
How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She causally mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value. A smile crept across the man’s face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?
“Look at it.” He said. “Read what it says.”
She read the words “United States of America.”
“No, not that; read further.”
“One cent?”
“No, keep reading.”
“In God we Trust?”
“Yes!”
“And?”
“And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God’s way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!”
When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I can not change. I read the words, “In God We Trust,” and had to laugh.
Yes, God, I get the message. It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And God is patient…
great, huh?!
now i’ll go do my daily reads and visits, and tell everyone i’m back!
God bless you!
great sermon
blessed sunday everyone!
we had a great sermon today. of course i can’t go into great detail, since i’m not a pastor and i didn’t memorize his sermon, i wanted to share a few thoughts from it.
we are discussing grace. the true depth and meaning of the word. we often take it for granted, and don’t take it seriously enough.
the analogy is that sin is our master, and shame is his wife. even though Jesus has set us free, we still feel held captive to sin and shame! grace is the president who FREES us by signing our emancipation proclamation. all we have to do is realize this and move on!
i can’t do the sermon justice, but as soon as the pastor gets his sermons typed out, i’m going to post it in full. it was great. of course the main scripture of today was most of romans 6. i love paul’s writing! he is so deep, but everything he says is totally simple to understand. God really blessed him with the gift of teaching.
i can’t remember if i mentioned the dresser we were given…a friend of mine from high school is moving to arizona and can’t take his dresser. so he asked if we wanted it, and we really needed one, so we said yes. he brought it over the other day, and it was in pretty bad shape. old, scraped up, etc. (i wish i’d taken a picture!) we decided to sand it down right then. the next day, i bought stain, so we stained it that night. yesterday we put polyeurothane (sp) on it, and now it’s dry and beautiful and ready to go. i’m taking a pic of it, but since our digital camera doesn’t work well, i’m using the standard cam, so i won’t be able to post it until we get back from vacation. i just thought i’d let everyone know that we got a great blessing in that gift!
watching all the remodeling on trading spaces helped us with the fixing up part! lol.
well, we start our vacation tomorrow. not sure if we’ll be using the computer for the week. please still post on the guestbook or tagboard while i’m gone - i would love to see that i was missed! lol. i get to meet jen from Cobblestone Lane and i’m VERY excited about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she is my absolute best friend online, and one of my best friends in the world!!!!!!!!!!!
we’re both excited AND nervous about meeting, so keep us in your prayers! it will be on wednesday that we meet.
pray for journey blessings, and a fun, relaxing time! we also are praying to get pregnant during this time, so pray extra long for that!
God bless you all! have a super-duper-blessing-filled week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ya-ya!
well, following the trend of other blogging friends, i decided to look up my ya-ya name. (from here). with my maiden name (jenn case), i’m viscountess parties like a rockstar! rofl!! with my married name (jenn gigowski), i’m empress weeping willow. i like that!
well the saturday eight all seemed negative to me today, so i decided not to do it. plus, i have a bunch of cleaning to do today.
i want to leave you with a Bible passage: Romans 5: 1-5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
ahhhh how comforting!
God bless you - have a wonderful weekend everyone!
no friday helps! gasp!
what will i do today? there are no friday helps!! no friday five! no friday group therapy! what will i write about?! lol
i had a very long morning. i went to my friends house to see where her son’s school is. then i went to walmart, then i went to bank, then i visited zhou. then i got gas and went to pick brendan up from school. waited in a long line at the school. then i came home and fixed him lunch. now we’re watching the iron giant. have you seen it? i love the movie!
well, next week is our vacation. i’m very excited on one hand, and very nervous on the other hand. i don’t know if we have enough money to be able to do as much as we wanted. we’ll see…as long as we relax and have fun it should be fine. though i really want to get pregnant next week!
i think that’s it for now.
God bless you!
well i guess i went to the friday group therapy too early. here it is now!
1. Tell us about your mother. my mom is sweet, kind, and one of my best friends. she has brown hair (with a bit of gray in it) and brown eyes. she’s loving and caring, and has a full-time job with First Steps of Indiana. i love my mama!
2. Tell us about your father. my dad is strong, and very knowledgable about biblical things. we have never been truly close, but i love him very much.
3. Tell us about your siblings. If you had none, how do you feel about that? i have two brothers and one sister. i’m the oldest. jay, 24, got married in december of last year. he is smart, outgoing and successful. josh, 21, has a close girlfriend. who knows if they’ll marry. he’s sweet, smart, fun and hardworking. he also recently lost about 60 lbs! i’m so proud of him! jannelle, 16 in a week, is silly, fun, stubborn and cute. she is a sophomore in high school this year.
i’m pretty close to all of my siblings off and on. i don’t talk with them about deep things anymore, but i know when we all have kids we’ll have lots to talk about. hehe. i actually miss the closeness we once shared.
4. Tell us about your grandparents. my maternal grandparents: max and marie loy. grandma was very special to me. when she died in 2000 i was very crushed and sad. grandpa and i were never that close, but i loved him deeply…when grandma died, jerry and i came to live with grandpa to help him out. we have been here for two years. i’ve gotten to know him well - too well in some instances! i still love him, but please pray with us about his soul - he has not yet accepted Christ. my paternal grandparents: kenneth and mary case. i never knew grandpa. they live in florida, so we only visited once a year, and he died when i was probably 3 or 4. grandma is very sweet but sick - i don’t know her well either. please pray for her too!
5. Do you have a large or small extended family? (Aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.?) How often do you see them? it’s large, but i don’t know very many cousins. i can name all the aunts and uncles though! (dad’s side) larry, tom, tim, buddy, david, marilyn, judy, sharon, karen, betty, debbie. (mom’s side) pam. lol. my cousins on dad’s side that i know their names are crystal, tommy, bobby, jennifer, nikki, jeremy (i think). aunt pam has: lorraine, (who lives in indiana now), rachel, (who is married and has a baby named zuri), michael, (who has a toddler jordan), and joel. the last three live in washington state.
6. Is there anyone in your extended family who you are especially close with? mmmm lorraine and i talk the most, because she lives fairly close.
7. Is there anyone in your family who you just don’t get along with? my aunt pam and i don’t get along. i love her, but … she and i just don’t get along. nuff said.
happy thursday!
well happy thursday to everyone! i missed yesterday because i was in such a bad mood - i wrote something, but it was so gloomy i didn’t want to post it! lol.
today’s tough topic is about boyscouts.
i think it is so lame that the media and companies/people who used to support boyscouts are now turning their backs on them, and trying to trash their name.
the boyscouts stand for honor, morality and brotherhood. if they were to let homosexual men be leaders, what would that teach the boyscouts? that anything goes, and morality is all in the eye of the beholder. and it’s not! if there is no moral compass, morality is worthless!
i think it’s great that the people in charge of boyscouts are so strong in their morals and convictions that they stand strong and ignore the taunts and criticism, even hatred.
i stand behind the boyscouts. i support them whenever i can ( i still have some of their popcorn! lol ).
i really hope that the boyscouts is still strong and moral when i have boys old enough for it. if not, no boyscouts for them.

this is interesting: from here
my favorite color is: BLUE, which means (in part):
-Devotion
-Loyalty
-Deep inner intelligence
-Shy
-Thinker
-Watcher
Patience is your strongest aspect. You are dignified, poised, and protective of your loved ones. You will reach your goals through persistence and the ability to make rational decisions. Lovers of blue are wonderful…partners. They are affectionate and sensitive to their partner’s needs. They consider love making a fine art and their approach is elegant….They are exciting partners but their passion may be compared to a tidal wave rather than firery aggression. Both women and men enjoy foreplay and the aftermath of lovemaking, as much as the…act itself. In marriage a blue person is a wonderful mate — never seeking outside interests.
God bless you. maybe more later
bad me again!
ok so i haven’t been posting. but i don’t think it matters much, since no one reads this blog at all yet.
i have been doing really well being positive. i’ve been very hungry with the new eating obstacles, since it’s easier to just snack on carbs than it is to snack on protein.
the new med is working fine. no bad side effects so far.
well, we are going on vacation in a couple of weeks. i’m very excited. i hope to be able to conceive that week, since IF i am ovulating again it would be the week for conception. pray for us, if anyone is reading this! lol.
i’m posting lots on jenn’s journey lately, so that takes away from here. but it doesn’t change my desire for a baby. i’m very excited now - i know i’m going to be a mama…i just wonder when it will be.
God bless you! and if you’re here - let me know!!!
